Vote For Jason Taylor

My Bio

I’m running for the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District Board because our water, land, natural resources, and community planning are too important to be treated like background issues.

As Gretna, Papillion, Springfield, and the Omaha metro area continue to grow, the decisions being made today will shape what this area looks like for decades. Families deserve clean water. Neighborhoods deserve smart planning. Growth needs to be handled responsibly. Public resources need to be protected for the public good, not short-term thinking or narrow interests.

I currently serve on the Learning Community Coordinating Council, and I’ve seen how much local government matters when it's done with transparency, accountability, and a real commitment to the people being served. I’m also a small business owner in Gretna, so I understand how important strong communities, reliable infrastructure, and responsible planning are for families and local businesses.

The breaking point for me is seeing how often offices like the NRD are overlooked, even though they make decisions that directly affect our homes, neighborhoods, water, land, parks, trails, and future growth. I’m running because I believe the NRD needs board members who will ask better questions, listen to the public, protect our natural resources, and make decisions with the long term in mind.

My Key Issues

Clean Water

Protect our water through conservation, pollution prevention, and responsible watershed planning that keeps families, farms, and communities in mind.

Smart Growth

Make sure development considers drainage, infrastructure, natural resources, and the long-term needs of neighborhoods, businesses, and families.

Natural Resources

Conserve land, water, soil, wildlife habitat, and public resources so future generations inherit a healthier and more sustainable community.

Parks, Trails & Access

Support parks, trails, recreation areas, and public access to natural spaces while balancing conservation, maintenance, and responsible use.

Transparency

Make NRD decisions openly and responsibly, with clear communication so the public understands how resources and taxpayer dollars are being used.
